1. An In-Depth Consultation
A dedicated consultation with the bride and groom to explore your family histories, heritage, places, memories and the personal significance you wish to weave into your design. We will work closely with you to translate your story into a distinctive tartan that brings both families together.
2. Your Exclusive Bespoke Tartan Design
Our specialist design team will develop your original tartan, incorporating your chosen colours, symbolism and inspiration. You will enjoy unlimited design revisions as we work together to achieve a design that feels absolutely right.
3. Full Tartan Registration
We will prepare and submit your finished design for registration in the Scottish Register of Tartans, including the technical specifications, thread counts, colours and accompanying narrative required for the application.
4. Your Own Traditional Scottish Weave
Your approved design will be woven in authentic wool by a traditional Scottish mill
The commission includes a minimum 16-metre length of luxurious 12/13 oz tartan cloth, providing the foundation for your wedding pieces and keepsakes.
5. A Made-to-Measure Groom's Kilt
A traditional kilt, made to measure for the groom and expertly sewn by our experienced kilt makers using your newly commissioned family tartan.
A very special garment, created for your wedding day and made to be treasured long afterwards.
6. The Bride's Tartan Sash
A beautiful sash in your newly created tartan for the bride to wear on her wedding day, bringing the colours of your shared heritage into her wedding ensemble.
7. A Handfasting Cloth for Your Ceremony
A length of your own tartan prepared for the handfasting ceremony, a particularly meaningful way to incorporate your newly created family tartan into the moment you make your vows.
8. Your Wedding Tartan Display
A beautifully presented, framed certificate and the story behind your tartan, ready to display at your wedding reception.
Your guests will be able to discover the inspiration, symbolism and history behind the design, and understand why this particular tartan means so much to you both.
9. Fifty Tartan Keepsakes for Your Guests
Fifty individually presented wedding favours, each containing a woven swatch of your tartan together with a miniature certificate recording its registration in the Scottish Register of Tartans.
