TARTAN LIBRARY - IRISH COUNTY TARTANS
Irish tartans are maybe a little less well-known than their Scots cousins, but they are no less striking and beautiful. Rather than clan or family determining which tartan is worn, in Ireland the ancestral county or district is the determining factor.
Here in this library are the 32 tartans of the 'Traditional Counties' of Ireland, plus the Irish National Tartan and the Irish American tartan, all woven in 100% Pure New Wool to a weight of 13-14oz.
