WHAT ARE THE MASKS MADE OF
We use an extremely high-quality washable rayon blend (tartan which is from our performance fabric range. It is densely woven and lined with our luxury silky Great Scot branded lining. This makes for an exceptionally high-quality mask which not only looks very smart but is comfortable to wear. We added a stain resistant finish. Most importantly though, the coverage and density of the coverings are excellent.

WHY WEAR A NON-MED FACE AND NOSE COVERING?
COVID-19 spreads mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Studies and evidence on infection control report that these droplets usually travel around 6 feet (about two arms lengths).
Most scientists now recommend wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, such as supermarkets, pharmacies, and petrol stations. Cloth face coverings may slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.
While we all become accustomed to this new accessory, we are finding that we have strong preferences! Now around 90% of our customers are opting for elastic ties. If you are unsure you might consider the following feedback we have received:

“I prefer elastic because the mask doesn’t slip”
" I fashioned the ties as loops for around my ears and got a perfect fit!"
" The generous ties allowed my to get a comfortable fir around my full beard"

WHAT ABOUT SIZES?
Thanks to your superb feedback we now have a one size fits most that is generous yet comfortable. The pleating allows you to ‘open’ the mask and enjoy plenty of coverage or, keep it pleated and narrow. It’s really up to you.
The elastic ties are generous too so if you have either an impressive Highlander's beard or a dainty wee face you'll have plenty of fit options.
DO YOU MAKE CHILDREN'S SIZES?
Yes. We make a smaller size for children but please do note that scientific guidelines suggest that children under 2 should not wear a mask. Just let us know in the comments box on the checkout page.
DO YOU MANUFACTURE IN BRITAIN?
Yes - and we’re passionate about it! We are careful to use only British mills too. The masks are made locally in our Seamstress Training Program.
HOW SHOULD I WASH MY MASK?
The Covid-19 virus is killed by using soap and water. We recommend that you machine wash your mask (in a cycle which is 20 minutes or more) using your usual laundry detergent and a little anti-bacterial fluid such as Dettol. Please don't put it in the tumble drier, instead dry it flat and finish by gently pressing with a steam iron to further sanitise it and of course to keep it looking very smart indeed.
